Meet our

Therapists

At Subramanya Yoga Centre, our Team is our Family. We promote an inclusive, judgement-free, welcoming space for all. We practice what we preach, and find joy in our work and connecting with others through our yoga practice.

OUR HEALTH PRACTITIONERS

In a society where we are expected to work long hours and pass on vacation days, there is an underlying belief that we must always be productive – which takes away the opportunity for self-care. Taking some time out for self-care can relieve the pressures of everyday life. Considering the costs with mental health services, lost wages and more, spending time on yourself ultimately benefits everyone.

Engaging in a self-care routine has been clinically proven to help reduce or eliminate anxiety and depression, reduce stress, anger, and frustration. Physically it has been proven to reduce blood pressure, heart disease and stroke.

Laura Dalton

Osteopath
Osteopathic Manual Therapy follows the theory that disease is a result of imbalances in the human body's anatomical structure. Osteopathic treatments focus on restoring posture and balance relationships and enhancing the efficient use of the musculoskeletal system.
Extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology is the foundation for osteopathic treatment. The role of the osteopathic practitioner is to encourage the body's natural ability to self-heal and self-regulate by removing any and all obstacles and obstructions that will interfere with the proper nutrition and drainage of the body's tissue.
Using a principles-based approach manual osteopathy does not just treat one area but the body as a whole and each treatment is unique to the individual patient.
Due to the gentle nature of the treatment manual osteopathy can benefit people of all ages!
* Back, neck and joint pain * Chronic pain * Muscle tension and strain * Headaches and migraines * Sinus problems and congestion * Work and sports related injuries * Edema, swelling, poor circulation and inflammation * IBS symptoms, constipation and diarrhea
Laura first discovered osteopathy after an injury in University that left her with severe back pain. She was recommended to an osteopath after exhausting all other options and after a few treatments she knew this was something she wanted to pursue so she could help others become pain free.
Laura graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in Hamilton in 2018 after completing her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo. Laura is very grateful and excited for the opportunity to share her love for osteopathy and the amazing benefits it can have on the body. I am very thankful to be working with such a wonderful team of teachers and other Yogis who continue to inspire me each & every day. With today’s busy lifestyle, where being busy is the standard and not the exception, it can be very challenging to take the time you need to stay connected within yourself.
My goal through Yoga is to inspire others to practice, self-reflect, breath & grow through meditation. I enjoy creating a class environment that induces relaxation and helps people escape from life’s daily stressors – even if it is for only an hour.

“Yoga is the ultimate practice. It simultaneously stimulates our inner light and quiets our overactive minds. It is both energy and rest. Yin and Yang. We feel the burn and find our bliss.”
