Make time for yourself
The art of Self-care
The ever-increasing rise in technology on top of the events that of the past 3 years have brought about a never-seen-before level of stress and burnout among individuals, leaving many to wonder if there is a better way. No worries, there is a better way! Self-care is your answer.
Practicing self-care and taking care of ourselves is not selfish, it is essential. Self-care is simply stress management at its core. Self-care is when we make the choice to create and build a life that we do not need to regularly escape from.
Here is how to create some self-care in your life.
Emotional self-care – journaling, yoga, breathing exercises, taking a walk outside, self-compassion, spending time with loved ones, giving yourself permission to take a break, reading a book, going to massage, osteopathy and other body work therapy.
Physical self-care – incorporating movement, exercise and yoga regularly, prioritizing sleep, choosing more whole foods and less processed foods and beverages.
Spiritual self-care – yoga, breath work, meditating, listening to a positive message or talk, journaling and, spending time outside with nature.
The possibilities of self-care are endless. Only you know what you truly need.
The important takeaway from all of this is to understand and be aware of what you need, whether that be a need for the day or in creating lasting routines that make your health and wellness a top priority.
So ask yourself..
What do I need today?
